It’s no secret that moving home is considered one of the most stressful things a person can do, so to help you navigate your next property purchase, we’re launching OnTheMove, our new podcast guiding you through everything you need to know about the home moving process from start to finish.

Whether you’re looking to get on the property ladder for the first time or it’s been a while since your last move, our new six-part podcast series will demystify the home moving process and highlight all the essentials needed to help you on your way.

The topics we’ll be exploring include the key considerations and financial factors first time buyers should be aware of that could impact their ability to move, a deep dive into the practical steps to start a property search from scratch, a look at the essential requirements for securing a mortgage and an explanation of the key differences between buying resale and new build homes.

Hosted by OnTheMarket’s Natasha Afxentiou, we’ll welcome expert estate agents and housebuilders to each episode alongside well-known property and personal finance personalities.

Teaming up with expert guests, we’ll break down industry jargon to ensure you’re equipped to make informed choices regardless of your level of property experience.

Our series guests include Matthew Thompson, Head of Sales at Chestertons, Kia Commodore, renowned public speaker and presenter of the Pennies to Pounds personal finance podcast, Alex Isidro, Head of New Homes & Investments at Foxtons and Ed McCoy, Group Sales Director at Persimmon Homes.

The first episode of OnTheMove, ‘Moving 101’, will outline the sequence of events you can expect when buying and selling a home. From choosing an estate agent to completion and exchange of contracts, we’ll share insights on applying for a mortgage, including the importance of a mortgage Agreement In Principle and the key documentation required from lenders.

Episodes will be released monthly with the first episode expected to be released in August and each will be available on all major podcast platforms as well as via our OnTheMarket blog.

Discussing the launch of OnTheMove, our Chief Executive Officer, Jason Tebb, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting property seekers in their home moving journey at a time when education is more important than ever. The market may have changed in recent months, but the fundamental approach to transacting remains the same as ever.

The series will cover the basics of moving home that can be applied to any market, no matter how much previous experience an individual may have. OnTheMove is another way we’ll be able to guide the home moving public through one of the most important decisions they’ll ever have to make.”
