Leisure

There is a wealth of local attractions in and around Basingstoke including The Anvil, a large multi-purpose entertainment venue, The Haymarket Theatre, the Milestone Museum, a living history museum, The Willis Museum, which traces the town’s history and Sainsbury Gallery which hosts local and touring art exhibitions. Just outside of town but well worth a visit is the Bombay Sapphire Distillery and a local golf course. Additionally visits can be made to Basing House, a ruined Tudor manor and gardens and The Vyne, a Tudor mansion with a 16th-century chapel set in gardens, woodlands and wetlands which is a National Trust property. For days out with the family, Black Dam Ponds are close by offering nature trails for walks around the ponds, and birdwatching. There is something for everyone at Basingstoke Leisure Park which includes a cinema and opportunities for ice skating and bowling.  Marwell Zoo can be found a little further afield near Winchester which is well worth a visit, and the acres of open space in The New Forest National Park are a great place to visit and explore.  Reserve your own home at Bloor Homes on the Green, and you will find it easy to live life to the full.

Transport

A new home at Bloor Homes on the Green is ideal for commuters giving easy access to London and the South Coast via the M3 just a mile away. The A33 links to the M4 giving access both to London and the West Country. Basingstoke is 30 miles north east of Southampton, 52 miles south west of London, 25 miles from Reading and 14 miles north east of Winchester and other local towns of Newbury, Andover and Farnborough are all within a 30 minute drive. Basingstoke Train Station is just 4.5 miles away from our development and regular trains run into Reading, London, Southampton and further afield. From our development a Stagecoach bus travels into the centre of Basingstoke approximately every 20 minutes and the nearest bus stop is just a short walk from the development.

Health

Within close proximity there are two surgeries and two dental practices.  The Basingstoke and North Hants Hospital is close by and there are a number of private and independent hospitals in the vicinity.

Education

There are a wide variety of nurseries and primary schools in the vicinity with a day nursery planned on the development. For older children the nearest secondary school is just under three miles away, and for further education there are a number of colleges, including Basingstoke College of Technology situated just 3.7 miles in distance.  

Shopping

Basingstoke town centre can be reached in just 5 minutes which boasts the Festival Place Shopping Centre offering a selection of high street shops and quirky boutiques, which gives the town centre its own character.  There is also a wide selection of restaurants and eateries, catering to all tastes.   Closer to home there is a local Co-op, a Boots pharmacy, a Lidl and a Sainsbury's.
