Property description & features

  • Tenure: Freehold
This quintessential cottage is situated in the most idyllic position, on a car-free road in the heart of Weymouth.

The stable front door with porthole window opens into the PORCH - the ideal place for coats and shoes. Off here, the SITTING/DINING ROOM enjoys and open feel, with the dining area towards the back. To the front, the living area is full of character and features an inviting feature fireplace with timber mantle, flagstone hearth and inset wood-burning stove. Beyond the dining area, double doors open to the KITCHEN, well equipped with timber worktops with storage below and stylish shelving above, and space for a fridge and cooker. A utility area provides further space and plumbing for a washing machine, and French doors open from the kitchen out to the courtyard garden. Completing the ground floor is a SHOWER ROOM with shower cubicle, WC and wash-hand basin.

Returning to the dining area, a door opens to the stairs, which rise to the FIRST FLOOR LANDING. BEDROOM ONE is a well-proportioned double room with plenty of built in wardrobes and a pretty window seat with timber shutters overlooking Love Lane. The BATHROOM offers a roll-top bath with shower over, WC, hand-wash basin and heated towel rail.

From the landing, stairs rise again to the SECOND FLOOR, where BEDROOM TWO can be found. Another well-proportioned double, this room benefits from eaves storage, and a Velux window enjoying views over Weymouth.

Outside
This characterful property benefits from a 'tucked away' feel, owing to its position on a quiet road with no vehicle traffic. To the rear, the sunny courtyard garden makes the most of this peace and tranquility, making it the perfect area for relaxing, catching up with friends and dining al-fresco.

Location
Located in the historic and highly sought-after harbourside area of Weymouth, the property enjoys close proximity to the restaurants and bars located around Brewer's Quay and the inner marina. Central Weymouth is also easily accessed, located just a short walk away over the town bridge. The award-winning sandy beach is accompanied by a range of shopping, dining and leisure facilities, and mainline rail links provide easy access to the nearby county town of Dorchester and to London Waterloo.

Directions
From DOMVS' office at 7a Preston Road, follow the road along the beach towards central Weymouth. At the Jubilee Clock, turn right into King Street. Go straight through the traffic lights onto Westham Bridge (A353). On the far side of the bridge, turn left onto Westway Road (signposted Portland). At the next set of lights, turn left along North Quay. Do not follow the road across the town bridge; instead, head straight on to Trinity Road, keeping the water on your left. Follow the road through Brewers Quay and out into Spring Road. At the mini roundabout, take the third exit into Newberry Gardens, then the first left into St Leonards Road. Take the first right into Prospect Place, then turn left into Franchise. Continuing down Love Lane (approximately 200 yards down on the left-hand side) by foot.

    Broadband availability and predicted speed

Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:

    Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
    Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
    Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2

Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength

Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services

Energy Performance data and Internal floor area

Any supplementary data should not be relied upon as forming part of any property particulars and OnTheMarket cannot be held responsible for any incorrectness in this data. See here for more information.

Calls to 0843 numbers will be charged at 4p/min from BT landlines. Calls from other networks may vary, and calls from mobiles and outside the UK will be higher. Calls to local numbers beginning with 01, 02 and 03 numbers will incur standard geographic charges from landlines and mobiles.
