LOCATION Bramshott is a delightful rural village, with origins as a hamlet dating to the early 13th century. At the heart of the village is St Mary’s church (1220) which has an open churchyard extending to approximately 5 acres and includes over 300 Canadian WW1 war graves. The village radiates from this point with many character properties interspersed with more modern development. The area is surrounded by much woodland (Bramshott and Ludshott commons) which were formerly part of the Royal Forest of Woolmer, with the River Wey gently meandering through much of the village. Facilities are available in Liphook which is less than 2 miles away offering a wide range of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs in addition to a large Sainsburys supermarket. There is a railway station offering a stopping service into London. Golf and Leisure facilities are available close by at Griggs Green, whilst the towns of Haslemere and Petersfield are within a short drive offering a greater range of facilities and faster train services. A3 connections within a mile and a half. Travel into London either via the A3 or mainline rail services is approximately an hour, both Gatwick and Heathrow are also within approximately an hour. The local area abounds in excellent schooling including Liphook Infants and Juniors, Bohunt Secondary School, Amesbury, The Royal School, Highfield and Brookham.
Location
Liphook is a large well serviced village on the Hampshire/West Sussex borders with excellent commuter links via the A3 and mainline train line from Portsmouth to Waterloo. The village grew out of the adjoining Hamlet of Bramshott with its prominence as a coaching stopping point and has since grown to overtake it. The area retains much of its rural charm with the delightful watermeadows in Radford Park in addition to modern improvements such as Sainsburys supermarket. Schooling is excellent with both private and state provision. Bohunt Secondary school having an excellent OFSTED rating and a raft of awards and accolades including TES Secondary School of the Year in 2014. Old Thorns Manor Hotel has a luxury Spa and gold course designed by Peter Aliss. The area has extensive surrounding countryside much of it National Trust including Bramshott Common.
