Location:

The crofting township of Clachan forms part of Staffin, located on the Trotternish Peninsula on the north east of the island.

Staffin offers a limited number of facilities including 2 restaurants, one housed in the Columba 1400 centre and the other adjacent to the local community centre which also houses a community run general store, community hall and gym facilities. There is a further small shop located in the village which also sells fuel. A primary school is located in Staffin providing education in both Gaelic and English Medium, secondary education is provided in Portree some 18 miles south and a school bus service operates to ferry pupils to and from the secondary school. Mobile banking and library services also operate in the area.
