Characterful features such as intricate cornicing, stripped wooden floors, and feature fireplaces provide a stunning backdrop to modern touches throughout. A rare bonus for the road, the property also benefits from a driveway.

The central hallway leads to two spacious reception rooms of equal size, offering flexible living and entertaining space. At the rear, a thoughtfully designed kitchen and dining area features a range of matching wall and base units with contrasting worktops, complemented by clever touches such as a serving hatch. The feature fireplaces throughout add both character and grandeur to the home. Upstairs, three charming bedrooms each have their own personality, accompanied by a stylish three-piece bathroom suite, completing this delightful family home.

Location

Thornleigh Road is a charming location, just a short stroll from the lively Gloucester Road, renowned for its mix of independent shops, cafés, and an outstanding range of restaurants. On a free day, you could enjoy brunch at Fed 303 or head to The Gallimaufry for an evening of dancing. Popular with both families and creatives, the area blends a sense of community with vibrant local culture.

Green spaces are never far away. The Ardagh Community Trust is nearby, offering tennis courts, a children’s play area, and a friendly café, while also hosting events throughout the year. St Andrews Park, a classic Victorian park, provides leafy walks, a playground, and a seasonal paddling pool, while Horfield Common is ideal for dog walking, running, or simply socialising outdoors. Sports enthusiasts are also well catered for, with the Gloucestershire County Cricket Club within easy walking distance.

For commuters, the location is particularly convenient. The city centre can be reached on foot or by bike, Gloucester Road is served by frequent buses, and the M32 provides quick access to the M4 and M5 motorways.

We think...

"Hello, this house has been a delight and we are so pleased someone else is going to get to enjoy what has been the most lovely place to live. We fell in love with the bay windows, fire place and high ceilings straight away and its location, so close to Gloucester Road, Horfield Common and the Ardagh Community Gardens (which hosts a market once a month!) has been absolutely perfect. There is a great feeling of community on this road, our neighbours are so friendly and in the summer we have enjoyed the annual street party. We have put a lot of love into the house including installing a brand new kitchen and bathroom, all new electrics and radiators, and restoring the original Victorian hardwood floors, as well as installing a electric vehicle charging point. We have really enjoyed building on the character of this home, its period charm and significant natural light are some of our favourite features. Another favourite is our own private driveway so you never have to worry about getting a spot, as well as the quiet, welcoming atmosphere of the wider street. We are sad to be leaving Thornleigh Road but know this will make someone a happy home!"
