The rooms for rent


Tenants will have sole use of the whole top floor of the house. This comprises one bedroom with double bed, one living room and one shower room and toilet. It would suit a single person or couple. The rooms have recently been redecorated and the space is calm, light and attractive with wooden floors. The top floor is a bit like a separate flat at the top of the house, and tenants would have lots of privacy and their own space, as well as great views of London from the windows.

Tenants would have shared access to the kitchen/dining room and the garden, all on the bottom floor, with arrangements to be agreed. Tenants should be aware that one member of the family works at home in the daytime, in the dining room/kitchen.

All bills and wifi are included in the price.

The property

The house is a three-floor family house, in a terrace built in 1929. The house is well maintained, comfortable, clean and warm. The atmosphere in the house is generally calm, quiet and friendly. There is a small garden at the back of the house with decking and a small lawn.

The ground and second floor are occupied by family members, with two children at university. There are no younger children at the property.

Road and local area

Mackie Road is a safe, quiet and friendly residential road with little through traffic.

It is very well connected to local transport hubs, with quick and easy access to central London, and just a couple of minutes walk from lovely Brockwell Park!

  • 15 minutes walk to Herne Hill station.

  • 30 minutes to Oxford Circus by bus and tube.

Brixton, Tulse Hill, Herne Hill, Clapham and surrounding areas are full of things to do and places to eat. There are tonnes of great pubs, restaurants and street food places. There are two cinemas, a theatre, a recreation centre and several gyms, several markets, a lido, shops, several parks and much more within 30 minutes walk.

Brixton is especially vibrant, with several live music venues, indoor and outdoor markets, the Ritzy cinema, a huge range of great food from around the world, shops, bars and tap rooms, and the end of the Victoria Line which means you almost always get a seat!
Central London is only half an hour away by public transport.

There is on-street parking, with permits available for purchase directly from the council.
