An enchanting detached unlisted period property situated in an idyllic rural setting.

Description

Coming to the market for the first time in almost 20 years, Foresters Lodge is a delightful unlisted period home, surrounded by the Torry Hill Estate and believed to date, in part, from circa 1820 with later additions. Situated off a rural country lane, the property occupies an idyllic position amidst gently sloping gardens that stretch around the whole of the property and, which are in turn, surrounded by neighbouring woodland and farmland.

Full of charm and character, the attractive accommodation is arranged over two floors. There is also a useful cellar, perfect for storage purposes. A welcoming entrance hall with slate flooring and exposed chalk and flint wall leads through to what was the original front portion of the cottage, now a dining room with painted beams, wood burning stove, staircase to the first floor, door to garden and lovely easterly views. Further reception rooms include a family room/study with engineered oak flooring and wood burning stove and a very well proportioned triple aspect sitting room, also benefiting from a wood burning stove and enjoying direct access via French doors to the lovely garden.

The kitchen/breakfast room is fitted with a range of oak fronted wall and floor cupboards. There is an electric AGA and space for various appliances. A south facing conservatory, a utility/laundry room and a shower room complete the ground floor accommodation.

The first floor has four bedrooms which enjoy views over the garden and beyond. Several of the bedrooms have pretty period fireplaces and bedrooms one and two have fitted cupboards. There is a family bathroom and an en suite shower room to bedroom four.

Foresters Lodge has a right of access over the drive, leading to an area of parking and the garaging, incorporating one open and one closed bay and storage for logs.

The well established and secluded gardens featuring mixed hedging and fencing to the perimeter, surround the house. To the rear, views can be enjoyed from a substantial terrace (with hot tub) which leads to the gently sloping lawn interspersed with shrubs, various trees and ornamental ponds.

Outbuildings include two stables and tack room with an area of hard standing and a greenhouse.

Location

The charming and historic market village of Lenham is under 2 mile away where there are a good variety of shops catering for everyday needs together with restaurants, public houses, a library and several schools. More extensive shopping can be found in Maidstone (10.5 miles) and Ashford (12 miles). Bluewater shopping is located just off the M25 Junction 2 (A2/M2).

Like many parts of Kent there are an excellent selection of schools in the area. In the state sector there are state and grammar schools for boys and girls in Maidstone, Canterbury, Faversham and Ashford, various local primary schools and in the private sector independent girl and boy’s schools in Ashford, Sutton Valence, Canterbury and Tonbridge.

Frequent services run to London Victoria and Ashford station from Lenham station (2.6 miles) in about 73 minutes and 14 minutes respectively. A high speed train service runs from Ashford to London St Pancras in about 38 minutes.
