The historic market town of Farnham is no more than five miles away, offering a comprehensive selection of amenities, shops and restaurants with a number of restaurants on the picturesque Castle St and Lion and Lamb Yard. There is a Waitrose and Sainsbury’s within the town with a larger Sainsbury’s hypermarket on the edge of town.

The town plays host to various markets and events throughout the year. Opening soon is Brightwells Yard, a new shopping centre that will include a cinema, restaurants, town square and public gardens.

The Georgian town of Alton, also around five miles away, offers an excellent range of shopping, recreational and education facilities including Waitrose, M&S, Aldi and Sainsburys, cinema and sports centre.

For further comprehensive shopping facilities, Guildford lies under 15 miles to the east and Winchester is about 23 miles to the west.

The mainline stations in Bentley and in Farnham, both providing a regular direct train service to London Waterloo within an hour’s journey.

The A31 and M3 (Junction 4) provide fast access to the M25 and national motorway network as well as Heathrow, Gatwick and Southampton airports.

There are a number of schools in the area including Bentley Village Primary School, Binstead Primary School, Edgeborough, Frensham Heights, More House in Frensham, Eggar’s Secondary School in Alton and Lord Wandsworth College in Long Sutton.

The surrounding area offers some wonderful walking, cycling and riding opportunities, either immediately from the house along foot baths and bridleways, including nearby Alice Holt Forest and along the Shipwrights Way, which is a 50-mile long distance path for walkers, cyclists and horse-riders, linking the towns and villages of East Hampshire to the beautiful countryside on their doorstep. The name of this trail reflects the journey of oak grown at Alice Holt to dockyards such as Portsmouth for medieval shipbuilding; the route finishes at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, home of the famous Mary Rose and HMS Victory.
