“What initially drew us to Waterlilies was the opportunity to experience communal and sustainable living in a new-build home. The flat itself is a beautiful, light and low-energy home built to passive house standards (MVHR, triple glazing, excellent insulation and so on). A really cool thing about Water Lilies is that it's powered by a microgrid, which comprises solar panels across the whole site, and a big Tesla battery that stores any excess electricity. The microgrid is managed by an electrical company that was set up specifically for the site and after five years residents of Water Lilies will have the chance to buy the company and could then be in charge of setting their own prices.”.

Water Lillies is the first eco-development of its kind in the UK where residents had the opportunity to design a sustainable home in a wonderful community in Bristol. Situated in Kings Weston in the North of Bristol and on the edge of a conservation area is development of 33 homes based around a community hub which can be accessed by all residents. The development is close to both Blaise Castle and Kings Weston House, both of which are wonderful places to walk and explore the countryside. Further afield the development has easy access to both the M5 and M4 for routes out of the city

It was designed by Marshall and Kendon, the same architects that designed the Bristol Lido.
