Lansley - This exceptional example of a Victorian terraced home is offered to the market having been under the current ownership for nearly 20 years. In that time the current owners have created a wonderful living space that offers accommodation comprising a bay fronted 'snug' lounge, refitted kitchen with integrated appliances, 21ft living/dining area with bi-fold doors opening out on to the low maintenance private rear garden, three double bedrooms with the master enjoying an ensuite shower and work space plus a further four piece family bathroom on the first floor. Audley Street is conveniently located close to a wealth of local amenities and is 0.3 miles from Reading West train station with direct routes to Paddington and the regular 17 bus route.

Owners comments: "We've loved living on Audley Street for the past 18 years and transforming our house into a spacious, light and airy home as our family grew. The loft conversion gave us a peaceful master bedroom with handy office space, fabulous for home working. Extending the house created a huge open plan kitchen and living area which has been perfect for relaxing in or entertaining friends and family, and the front living room is a cosy space for chilling out. On warm sunny days with the bifold doors open, the easily manageable garden becomes a beautiful extension to the house. This is a fantastic location and vibrant, friendly neighbourhood. Reading West train station is 3 minutes walk away with direct trains to Paddington in the morning and in the evening we've arrived in the West End within an hour for shows and dinner out. The beautiful Thames Path is 15 minutes stroll past Little Johns farm or 4 minutes drive away where we walk our dog almost every day, as is the newly built Rivermead Leisure Centre where I swim and do spin classes. There is an abundance of shops, cafes and restaurants a short walk away and the town centre is 15 minutes walk."

About Us Originally established in Guildford in 1890 by the founder AH Lansley, the business has principally been involved in the sale and valuation of going concern businesses, with occasional Sales of residential property. The firm was moved to Reading in tile early 1900s, with offices at 52-53 Friar Street — now Sainsbury’s supermarket. In the 1930s, AH Lansley was succeeded by his son, AE Lansley, in partnership with WW Ware. They were Joined In the Late 1930s by AC Hayes, together with Mr. Ware’s son, K W Ware, in the 1950s. Mr. Hayes’ sons, Morvyn and Brian started in the early 1960s and have subsequently become the longest-serving members of the firm. Apart from the substantial increase in property values the firm has seen many changes over the years. Trading was continuous during both world wars. Particularly notable has been the change in communications in the early years. Telephones were not common and most contact with clients was by post. Even as recently as the 1950s, it was possible to post a letter in Reading before 10AM for it to be delivered to an address in London by noon the Same day- And a reply could be sent and received in Reading the following morning. This service has been super ceded by phones, faxes and now e-mail. Viewing arrangements have also changed with the development of motor cars. In the 1920s, it was common for a prospective purchaser to be invited to hire a cycle at one of the many town centre hire shops and to visit properties on the bike, accompanied by a representative of the firm. Moving into the 21st century, the firm of AH Lansley and its associate, A H Lansley (Residential), now offers a broad range of services throughout the property sector. This includes residential sales and lettings, planning services, residential and commercial mortgages, surveying, land and new homes and business transfers.
