Location

3C Queens Gardens has an enviable setting just off South Street in the centre of St Andrews. It is a terrace of period houses which overlooks gardens on the opposite side of the one way street and with St Andrews Episcopal Church at its end. It is close to the University, shops, bars and restaurants and just a short walk from the world famous Old Course and the West Sands beach.

St Andrews is renowned worldwide as the Home of Golf. There are seven golf courses under the management of the St Andrews Links Trust, including the Old Course, which hosted the 150th Open Championship in 2022. There are many other golf courses in the area including the Duke’s Course, St Andrews Bay, Kingsbarns, and Dumbarnie and traditional links courses at Elie and Crail.

St Andrews is also well known for its university which is one of the oldest in Britain, founded in 1413. The historic town has a good range of shops, hotels, restaurants and recreational and cultural facilities which include a cinema and The Byre Theatre. Beyond St Andrews is the East Neuk of Fife, with a spectacular coastline which boasts fishing villages built around picturesque harbours and sandy unspoilt beaches.

Access to St Andrews by rail, road and air is good. Leuchars railway station is on the main Aberdeen to London line and provides a fast link to Dundee and Edinburgh. Edinburgh Airport, with a wide range of domestic and international flights, is 50 miles away and Dundee Airport is 15 miles.

Queens Gardens is a one way street accessed by car from Queens Terrace to the south. Driving east along South Street continue to the roundabout near the Cathedral, turn right into Abbey Place, right again into Greenside Place and fork right onto Queens Terrace. Queens Gardens is after about ¼ mile on the right hand side. No 3 is at the far end on the right.
