Property description & features

"It is a great location, especially for walkers and dog owners. The village is lovely and there are great walks in Vassals Park, on the other side of the river. As a family, we kept the woodland paths clear and could literally walk from the bottom of the garden, down to the river. This was amazing as kids growing up and something we will collectively miss dearly."

Located next to Frenchay Village, one of the oldest parts of the city, first recorded in the 13th century, the village now serves as a recognised and accessible part of the city, yet retains a lot of its village charm and character. The village started to take its current shape in the 18th Century when wealthy families built large houses. The church and the village school were built in the 19th century. To the current day the village still shows a lot of its history and is scenic place to visit as well as a great place to live. The village is home to a primary school, a pub, a village museum, a tennis club and a famous cricket club, established in the 19th century, once captained by W.G. Grace. Whilst the quaint village feel of the area has been maintained, there are also several more modern homes being built in the area, many on the site of the old Frenchay Hospital. There are also several other amenities nearby with shops, other pubs and schools in walking distance. The area is also popular for being in such an accessible position, close to the M4 and M32 motorways, as well as the ring road around into the Filton Abbey Wood area, which is home to several major employers such as the M.o.D and Rolls-Royce. Bristol Parkway is also just a short drive away through nearby Hambrook. Frenchay Village offers a fantastic compromise between countryside and city life and Stanshaw Close is a quiet spot for anyone who still wants to be in touch with all Bristol has to offer.

Backing onto a picturesque woodland and occupying a spacious and leafy plot, is Stanshaw Close, a semi-detached home benefitting from off street parking and well kept interior. Internally, modernisation is required, but the current occupiers have looked after the home extremely well, significantly adding to the properties appeal. Entrance is into a traditional hallway, with the first reception room on your initial left, utilised as the living room, and featuring a chimney breast and plenty of natural light resulting from the large window frames. Adjacent, is the second reception, which would typically be used as a dining room. A large full length patio door provides luscious views onto the garden and access to a patio area. The ground floor is then completed by a spacious kitchen and lean to, which leads directly to the garden. The rear garden faces in a south-easterly direction, with the woodland behind leading to the River Frome. The space on offer is a superb setting, ideally suiting a family looking to enjoy the privacy and tranquillity the property offers. A side gate allows access to front, alongside the single garage. Progressing to the first floor, a typically layout is offered, with two large bedrooms sitting at the front and back, and a three piece bathroom suite and smaller single bedroom at either end of the landing. The property is also sold with no onward chain, with the current tenancy ending on 1st July 2024.
