VENDOR COMMENTS

We have loved living at 1 Oakridge for the past 9 years. It has been a super family home whilst the children were young. They were able to walk to the village school and, as teenagers, the buses to Newent Community School and to the grammar schools in Gloucester leave from just around the corner. Our house is known as 'the one that sits on its own' because the house stands proudly with views across Gloucester and the River Severn to Robinswood Hill on a clear day. In the winter you can see Gloucester Cathedral in the distance, and every morning when I get up I take in the view of the Old Rectory and Highnam Church Spire.

Highnam is a fantastic community to live in and this was particularly evident during Covid, with everyone helping each other. There is always something going on and the monthly Village Link keeps us up to date on the activities of all the local groups for both adults and children.

Grounds
Lawns to the front with a selection of shrubs to the side, pathway up to the entrance. The rear garden can be easily accessed from the utility/ boot room, snug and sitting room open to a lovely sun terrace that stretches the width of the property provides a great entertaining space, perfect for those summer barbecues.

A raised drystone wall with step inset having a wealth of planting to borders to each side with wooden arch inset opens to a lawned garden. A selection of trees and well stocked borders provide a lovely backdrop. A further area to the rear of the garage provides the perfect location for children's play area. A garden the whole family can enjoy.

Highnam is a wonderful village with a wealth of open space for all to enjoy including the park where an enclosed playing area offers a secure environment for the children. Superb dog walks and bike rides. Welcoming family run Highnam stores and post office, Alney Practice Doctors Surgery and Pharmacy. Highnam C of E Primary Academy, set in the heart of the village. Beautiful church and community centre with a wealth of activities for all ages to enjoy with coffee mornings and much more. This village comes into its own for any celebrations and has a wonderful community vibe with Facebook groups for all.

Highnam Court & Gardens are a credit to the owner and benefit from opening for charity events a few times a year. Over Farm a short walk across the fields provides a wealth of local produce, with a variety of children's activities and music festivals throughout the year.

Ease of access to Newent, the Forest of Dean and a short distance from M5 north and south. Within 10 minutes you can be in Gloucester Quays for some retail therapy followed by a choice of eating houses and cinema. What's not to love about this village.
