Description
Laurel Cottage is an eye-catching cottage set back from the road by a generous front lawn and a long gravel path leading to the front door along a beech hedge. There is so much more when you go inside than the charming cottage exterior which first meets the eye.
The current owners beautifully and meticulously re-designed the cottage in 2020 by connecting an existing barn/ annexe to the rear of the original cottage, creating fantastic flow through the cottage which is finished to a very high standard throughout.
On entering the cottage, there is a stone-laid porch to leave coats and shoes before going into the Sitting Room. The Sitting Room is a beautiful dual aspect room, complete with a log burner and built-in bookshelf & storage, plenty of room to entertain in or just light the fire and get cosy. Through to the Hall which is a versatile space for sitting or dining, linking the original cottage with the original barn that is now the Kitchen / Dining Room. Off the Hall is a downstairs cloakroom and WC and hidden behind a door are stairs up to the Snug which could also be used as a third bedroom or study.
The Kitchen is a stunning space. With exposed barn beams and full ceiling height, it gives the whole house a real sense of openness and light. It boasts a natural stone floor with underfloor heating, immaculate integrated kitchen units and double Belfast sink with church views: this is a fantastic space for keen chefs and entertaining. At one end is plenty of space for dining, with bi-fold doors leading out into the garden, perfect for indoor/outdoor living. To the other end of the kitchen is a separate Utility Room equipped with sink, built-in storage, heated towel rail and space for a washing machine and dryer.
The first floor comprises two double bedrooms, one offers floor-to-ceiling built-in storage while the other has plenty of space for a freestanding dresser. Both rooms have lovely garden views. There is a generously proportioned Bathroom with underfloor heating, deep roll top bath, separate marble-tiled shower, WC, basin and heated towel rail.
To the rear of the cottage is a tranquil and private south-facing garden, mostly laid to lawn with patio areas at both ends for al fresco dining and dry-stone wall raised flower bed fringes and a view of the village church in the distance.
Location
Coln St Aldwyns is a picturesque and highly sought after Cotswold village, lying between Bibury and Fairford and just 8 miles from the vibrant market town of Cirencester, which offers an excellent range of shops, restaurants and independent boutiques. The village of Coln St Aldwyns benefits from a village pub as well as a village shop, which contains a cafe and post office. Laurel Cottage is set in the heart of the village and approached off Bibury Road. The surrounding land is owned in the main by the Williamstrip and Hatherop Estates which help protect the village from development. Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
