OWNERS PROPERTY INSIGHT

" We have loved living in the heart of Wellswood, but it is time to return to America. Our apartment which comprises the entire top floor of a Victorian villa (dating from around 1842) is filled with light. Visitors comment on the elegance of the property, while still maintaining a homey feel. There are large period sash windows on all sides, so we enjoy the benefit of passive solar warmth all day. We have put considerable effort into making the outdoor area cozy, inviting, and low maintenance, enjoying the sun as it moves around the villa from morning to late evening in the summer months. There are 3 individually owned apartments, sharing the freehold. Apartment 1 is currently going through probate. Apartment 2, is owned by a delightful couple who enjoy (and are very skilled at) gardening. We have enjoyed a very nice relationship with our neighbours, all of us quiet, friendly, and happy to have a chat if we see each other in the common driveway/parking area."

OWNERS' LIFESTYLE INSIGHT

"Aside from Grantham Hall’s charm, we also chose to live here for its location. The friendly Wellswood shops are located just minutes walk away with Co-op, post office, spa/salon, hairdressers, restaurants and cafes and an excellent French patisserie. Walking in the other direction along Lincombe Drive you will find lovely sea views and trails through the woods which are ideal for dog, as well as human, walking to the stunning Meadfoot Beach with café. Torquay Marina is a 20-25 minute walk. There is also a frequent bus service heading to Babbacombe and St. Marychurch, or Torquay Marina and beyond. The people in Wellswood are friendly and if you have a dog, you will soon get to meet a lot of happy dogs and their people. Though we are looking forward to returning to friends and family in Oregon, there are many things we will miss about Grantham Hall. It has all of the elements for a happy and convenient lifestyle."
