A five bedroom former public house with a double garage and parking, in a conservation area near the centre of the village of Ashwell. The property is thought to have originally been a group of farm cottages which were bought by John Bailey, an Ashwell builder in 1836, and became a beer house. It is believed that it took its name from a steam threshing engine which was possibly situated in the garden of 110 High Street. In 1886 Fordham’s Brewery took over the pub. It eventually became part of Whitbread’s public houses in 1962 and closed as a pub in 1993.

The property has been extended and improved over recent years and now has approximately 2,729 sq. ft. of accommodation with five bedrooms, and four reception rooms and a conservatory. It retains character features including an inglenook fireplace in the sitting room, exposed beams, and a cellar and there is an old well just to the rear of the house.

There is a private enclosed garden and a double garage with parking accessed via Wilsons Lane which is a one-way street leading from The High Street.

Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
