THE PROPERTY
Clover Cottage is a most attractive period cottage of stone elevations under a pretty slate roof and is situated a very quiet spot at the end of a no through lane, making for a very peaceful setting indeed. The cottage itself is a true delight, and has been very tastefully modernised in recent years, whilst carefully retaining an abundance of characterful features, to include exposed beams, wood panelling, an inglenook fireplace with woodburning stove, and window seats in which to admire the views to the Bride Valley.
The bespoke made front door really does set the scene upon first entering the house, and leads into a generous entrance hall; a rare feature for a cottage of this type. To one side, the sitting room provides a cosy retreat in which to sit in front of the fire during the evenings, whilst a door to the other side opens into the dining room. Both of these rooms face South, commanding a great deal of natural light, with pretty window seats enjoying views over the garden and further to the Bride Valley. The solid wood fully fitted Dorset kitchen is situated to the rear of the cottage, and has access out to the rear terraced garden, with a useful second bathroom with roll top bath.
Stairs lead from the hall to a spacious light filled landing, which is large enough to use as an office area with ample room for a desk/reading chair, and once again has a window framing the far reaching countryside views.
There are two very spacious double bedrooms, facing South with window seats enjoying the peaceful outlook, with a good-sized single bedroom and full family bathroom to the rear.
The cottage is pleasantly tucked away towards the end of a quiet no through lane, yet situated within close proximity to the heart of the village. There is parking to the front of the house at the end of the garden, for 1-2 cars and further allocated parking at the end of the lane. The gardens to the front are mainly laid to lawn with a variety of well stocked shrubs and plants, with a lovely paved terrace close to the house, providing an ideal spot for morning coffee, or alfresco dining, and of course benefiting from countryside views. The rear garden has been well landscaped in recent years, with steps leading up to raised gravelled terraces.
