One of the main things that attracted us to this property was the huge private garden. At the time of purchase, it was abandoned and overgrown. This was our project- to create the garden of our dreams. We had an architect design a large outer house for us which we submitted to the council and planning permission was granted. With electricity and Wi-Fi connection, it has become like a second living space. Our children have loved this space and we've had some amazing times there from poker nights, christenings, wedding anniversaries and endless bbqs.
Inside the property, the living room's bay window, floods the flat with natural light. Another key feature we loved about our home was the quirky design of the bathroom.
Since purchasing the flat, we have installed a new boiler and double glazed window in the bedroom. The flat has been maintained and well looked after.
With the property being a share of freehold, we pay a monthly fee of £50 which we have used to maintain the exterior of the property. Since purchasing the property in 2016, we have restored and painted the front door, placed fences around the property, a drive gate and sensor lights. We have just finished repairing the roof and gutter this month. The property also comes with a communal drive way which has been used by us solely for the last seven years.
Another perk of the property is its location. A two minute walk from west Croydon station, direct bus routes into London, the shopping centre and the local pharmacy has also been a luxury. And not to forget the GP practice on our road.
It has been the perfect first home for us and our children. We have been very happy here and made so many memories from bringing our children home from the hospital to watching them take their first steps. We made the space work with two children for the last five years but having our third child has meant that we now need a larger home."
