Property description & features

'From the minute we came to live at our home on Nevil Road, we loved the energy. It's provided us with a wonderful happy home for our six children, now grown. Our grandchildren have also loved this house. It's so close to the Gloucester Road that we felt safe enough to let our teenagers live their lives independently and the garden is lovely and has had enough space for play equipment and a small swimming pool. It's a lively area with cafes, schools, fitness centres, shops, and pubs. It's served us well!'

Nevil Road is a famous road of Victorian homes in Bishopston. The road has been home to the historic County Cricket Ground since 1889 and is joined at this end by a particularly popular section of Gloucester Road. Close to this house are great cafes such as Fed, Deck and Better Food, which are a great source of some of Bristol's best coffee and cakes. Lona is a restaurant renowned across the city for its plentiful Lebanese cuisine, whilst the Golden Lion is a classic Bristol pub, hosting several events and good pub quizzes. Residents of Nevil Road can easily get to Westbury Park, Redland and Henleaze, home to Scott Cinemas, great pubs like Cambridge Arms and Westbury Park Tavern, whilst also providing access to The Downs. For those looking to commute into work, buses run regularly along Gloucester Road and offer easy access to all major employment areas such as Temple Quay and Temple Meads (where trains run regularly into London), the City Centre, and North towards Filton where large employers such as Airbus, Aviva, and the Ministry of Defence have their offices. Nevil Road is also within easy reach of Bristol Parkway Train Station, the second largest in Bristol.

The house itself is a substantial semi-detached, six bedroom home, measuring over 2000 square feet. The house has been clearly loved over the years and still benefits from character and period features throughout. The house has a grand side entrance with rooms off a central hallway. To the ground floor there is a living room and study to the front, with a dining room and kitchen leading onto the rear garden. To the back of the kitchen there is a small utility and downstairs WC. To the first floor there are four bedrooms and a bathroom, whilst the top storey has two further bedrooms and shower room. The house has a generous size private garden to the rear, whilst to the front of the house there are two off-street parking spaces.

Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on October 30, 2023

Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:

    Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
    Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
    Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2

Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on October 30, 2023

Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
