DESCRIPTION

Written by the current owner

There hasn’t been a day since first arriving at Fort Pendle stone eight years ago that I haven’t woken with a wow moment. Aside from the architecture (I wake beneath one of three glass ceiling domes in the apartment) you are greeted, as you walk into the open plan lounge/kitchen to the most breath-taking views of the River Severn.

Fort Pendle stone is a Grade II Listed former textile mill built from sandstone in 1845 and No.6 is on the first floor of this historic building. With outstanding views from both the front and rear of the property, the interior also delights in the architectural features which have been preserved.

The grounds in which Fort Pendle stone sit are peaceful and nurturing. There is most certainly a feeling of safety and security, not only within the fortified walls of the building but also from the grounds which are protected by security gates and secured parking. The communal gardens are beautifully maintained and provide for lovely summer evenings enjoyed on the riverside.

Living so closely to the river means that you are witness to the incredible yearly life cycles of the swans, ducks and other wildlife that reside here. There is also the annual visit of the lone black swan that returns every year which is warmly welcomed back to the fold by its river friends.

The apartment is beautifully light and airy and boasts imposing high ceilings and full-length stone mullion windows that reach over eight feet tall and unlike many apartments, each of the rooms are spacious and make the most of the views and the footprint of the building. Whilst the front of the building overlooks the magnificent River Severn, the rear of the building overlooks an almost Jurassic view of High Rock which is beautifully adorned during the summer months with mature trees in full leaf and foliage.

I really would urge anyone who is looking for an alternative pace of life to consider viewing Fort Pendle stone. There is a feeling here that you are part of the legacy of this important building and my happiest moments have been spent here. I look forward to meeting you if you decide that this home could be your home.
