Property description & features

  • Tenure: Freehold
  • Ancient woodland
  • Excellent access
  • Modern caravan included

West Pullens Wood is a wonderfully secluded ancient woodland set within The High Weald AONB.

The woodland is well mixed throughout, from the smaller entrance on Tong Lane, the access track is lined with towering oaks. Chestnut, hornbeam, birch and beech can also be found to the north-west along with Scots Pine and spruce. To the south and east coppiced cherry, hazel and birch are common, mature oak and beech are also present.

A pleasant stream runs along the northwest boundary with great views out across a local vineyard. West Pullens Wood is a haven for wildlife, deer are common visitors and a huge badger sett can be found towards the northern point.

There is a large central clearing with a campfire, table and seating making it ideal for camping and woodland activities. A modern caravan in very good condition is also in place, which is included in the sale. Various wide tracks and paths lead you in and around the woodland making it easy to navigate the whole space.

West Pullens Wood is ideally placed just a short drive from Tunbridge Wells. London is just over an hour away, to the south, Hastings and the coast just 45 minutes. In the local area, Bewl Water and Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest offer lots of activities for all the family.

Ward is Goudhurst and Lamberhurst and the County Council is Kent

Boundaries: The northwest boundary follows the stream. The north east side borders neighbouring woodland and is staked and marked red. Hedges line the boundary following the road to the south east. The south west boundary is fenced and follows Tong Lane.

Access: There is excellent vehicle access all year round via a shared locked gate. Parking is also possible inside the woodland itself. There is also a smaller private gate on Tong Lane which can also be used for vehicles.

Viewing: You are welcome to visit this wood by yourself, but please download the details showing the location of the woodland and ensure that you have a copy of these sales details with you. Many of our woodlands do not have mobile phone reception or internet access so we recommend either printing the details or downloading them to your phone or tablet. Please take care when viewing as the great outdoors can contain unexpected hazards and woodlands are no exception.

Directions:

West Pullens Wood, Lamberhurst Road, Horsmonden

For viewing purposes, park on the verge opposite the woodland as marked on the map.

To access the woodland, pass over the boundary near the stream and bear right to get on the main internal track which leads to the main camp area.
