Description

3 Hadham Hall is the principal section of this magnificent Grade II* listed mansion house.

The accommodation is split over three floors, with every room offering tremendous volume, light and exceptional character.

From the moment you step through the front door into the grand reception hall with its exquisite wood panelling and oak staircase, through to the incredible drawing room with inglenook fireplace and beautiful wooden flooring, one cannot fail to be impressed.

The attention to detail is evident throughout the house with all bathrooms and the kitchen taking a more modern twist yet keeping firmly in line with the character of the house.

Hadham Hall’s grandeur in no way prevents it’s use as a wonderful family home. Every room is enjoyed all year round for either large scale entertaining or perhaps more regular, reserved, every day family use.

To the rear of the property, Hadham hall has just over a third acre of private gardens with incredible views across the surrounding countryside.

The estate itself is approximately 40 acres of beautiful parkland and fabulous specimen trees all of which is accessible to the owners of properties within the estate.

Each property owner holds a stake in a management company who maintain the grounds, providing equal rights over the land, to all houses.

There is a residents tennis court and various guest parking areas dotted around the estate together with a private garage for the use of this property.

Location

The house sits in the middle of a 40 acre parkland setting on the edge of Little Hadham.

The village of Little Hadham offers a parish church, village hall, JMI school and a well regarded gastro pub.

The market town of Bishop's Stortford provides multiple shopping and sporting facilities, excellent state and private schooling for all ages and a main line railway station with commuter services to London's Liverpool Street.

On the outskirts of Bishop's Stortford access is available to the M11 motorway with the A1 and Cambridge to the north and the M25 and London to the south.

Some history of Hadham Hall:

Between 1572 and 1578 Henry Capel (1537–1588) built the magnificent Elizabethan mansion that stands today. This is the same Hadham Hall in which he entertained Queen Elizabeth I in 1578 when she lodged here while returning from Norfolk. The Queen passed through Bishop’s Stortford on her way to Hadham Hall and again on her return to London, and the event was duly recorded: ‘The Queen and her retinue came riding through the town from Little Hadham to great rejoicing, for 10s. (50p) was paid for Ringing to the Ringers when the Queens majesty came to mr Capells and from mr Capells thorowe the towne’.
