Woolacombe sits on the rugged North Devon Coast, amidst the surrounding National Trust land and is an extremely well-known village in the UK, primarily due to the stunning beaches which have previously held the accolade of the Number 1 beach in the country by Trip Advisor. Many visitors flock to the area throughout the year, especially during the busy summer months. The village has an array of facilities which include a variety of small independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. There is also a health centre, chemist and a primary school which has an outstanding rating from Ofsted. As well as the main stretch of golden sands there is also Barricane and Combesgate Beaches which have rock pools to explore and the former having a beach side kiosk, selling delicious Sri Lankan curries throughout the summer season.
Applicants are advised to proceed to Woolacombe from the Mullacott roundabout on the A361, taking the signposted turning to Woolacombe and following the road into the village which is approximately 4 miles.
