Lovingly renovated by the present owners, the property is presented in first class order throughout, with excellent proportions, idyllic front and rear gardens and is comfortably used as a well located and superbly maintained family home. Particular features include two fabulous modern bathrooms, a hand built solid wooden kitchen, with separate utility, dining room and period decorative features.
Mentioned in a previously lost poem by Sir John Betjeman, Alma Terrace is a picturesque landmark in this beautiful regency town, famed for its period sea front and quintessential charm. The property presents an excellent opportunity as a spacious family home, or as an ideal ‘pied a terre’ on the coast.
Situation
Sidmouth remains a highly regarded Regency town and is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Sidmouth boasts a warmth and conviviality that is much envied by similar placed resorts, and it offers a comprehensive range of local and individual shops, which are a far cry from the uniform and nationwide retail face of many other English towns and cities.
Sidmouth is well cared for and has the oldest civic society in Great Britain - the Sid Vale Association. There are fine buildings, lovely walks, stunning views and safe beaches to attract visitors and settlers. Additionally, there are all the modern conveniences necessary for everyday life including a hospital, health centre, library, and excellent range of educational facilities, swimming pool, sports hall, theatre, cinema, thriving sports clubs and Waitrose and Lidl supermarkets - a town not to be missed!
The Cathedral and University City of Exeter, with its airport and rail/motorway links, is approximately 15 miles away, Honiton with a main line rail link is 10 miles away and Junction 30 of the M5 motorway, approximately 12 miles.
Directions
From Exeter, proceed east on the A3052 towards Sidmouth. After passing the Bowd Inn, take the first turning right on to the B3176. OnTheMarket may have applied supplementary data to this property listing, including:
Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on January 4, 2024
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on January 4, 2024
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on August 24, 2023 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
