Description
Milton House is an attractive family house thought to date back to the late 1800s / early 1900s. The property is nestled in the Ochil Hills and has a beautiful southwest-facing outlook over the gardens with the River Devon at the foot, and a picturesque hilly skyline beyond. The house has been renovated and extended by the current owners (completed in 2023). An attractive two story extension has transformed the property by providing it with open-plan living space, and a new principal bedroom suite with balcony. Whilst the house sits in a rural setting, it has excellent access links across central Scotland.
The family / dining room on the lower ground floor is a fantastic addition to the house. It has sliding glass doors that open into the garden and provide views down to the river, with the hills beyond. The room is set up with service points so that a kitchen could be installed to create an even more outstanding open-plan space. The kitchen currently sits on this floor too, along with a sitting room and a WC. Situated on the upper ground level of the new extension is the principal bedroom suite. This has a dressing room and a balcony from which the views are outstanding. A study off the bedroom has plumbing in situ for the installation of an en suite shower room. There are two further bedrooms on this upper ground floor, as well as a central landing which, under the existing planning permission, could be separated off to create a study. The front door for the original house sits between the bedrooms leading out at street level. The top floor has a further two bedrooms, both with dormer windows and cupboards, a bathroom and a large store.
Wooden garden gates give access to the driveway which sweeps down past the side of the house to the rear where there is a gravelled area for parking. The drive continues past the house to a large garage (about 12m x 6.5m) which has been recently installed and sits to the side of the house. It has three large roller shutter doors and is set up with work benches and storage.
The garden sits to the south of the house with the attractive River Devon at the foot. The current owners have carried out extensive works on the garden to make it more usable, and to open up the views of the river from the house. There are a variety of mature trees providing the house with privacy from its neighbours.

OnTheMarket may have applied supplementary data to this property listing, including:
Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on December 18, 2021
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on January 5, 2022
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on February 20, 2018 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
