From London, head west on the M3 and bear off onto the A303. Continue past Stonehenge and Mere. At Zeals, exit the A303, signed B3092 towards Stourhead. After about a mile and a half, turn left towards Stourton, and pass the Stourhead Café and Spread Eagle pub on your left. With the lake on your right, carry on to an ancient stone arch and then turn immediately right down a gravelled track (signed footpath to St Alfred’s Tower). Continue on this track and you will see Beech Cottage up to your right, set behind a mature hedge.
