Enys Courtyard has a fascinating history, originally constructed over 200 years ago for a range of uses, such as accommodation for horses, coaches and their grooms, as well as use as part of the agricultural activities taking place within the Estate and during the formation and development of Enys Gardens. Its proximity to Enys House would have resulted in the Courtyard forming part of the central operation of the Estate by the Enys family whilst managing their Estate land.

Requisitioned in World War II by the Dutch navy, Enys House was briefly used in conjunction with a boys school that ran from the Estate in the 1950s before falling in to disrepair. After many years of planning, in 2018 three sides of the Courtyard were sensitively and carefully restored and developed to provide high quality residential accommodation. The fourth side remains in use by the Estate in conjunction with the Enys Gardens, which are open to the public.

ACCESS

Access to the Courtyard is taken via the main Estate access driveway, from Enys Hill, past Enys Lodge. The location is remote and tenants are likely to need their own car.

SERVICES

The property is directly connected to a fibre optic broadband and phone connection, which will need to be set up directly with an appropriate supplier; no copper cable connection is permitted, in order to prevent overhead cables.

Heating and hot water is provided by modern electric powered units. The property also offers a woodburning stove in addition.

Foul drainage is to a private system, operated by the Landlord.

Water is via a metered mains supply and tenants will be required to pay for any water usage directly to South West Water.
