Description
The Old Forge is a most appealing Grade II listed character cottage which cleverly combines an exterior of local Purbeck stone with a stylish, contemporary interior. Originally two buildings, one of which was the forge, the property has been imaginatively re-modelled to provide a single storey home that could be used as a main home, but would also make the perfect second home. In addition, the current owners have generated a valuable income from renting the property out.
The cottage is situated in the heart of this Conservation Area village, surrounded by beautiful countryside with views towards Corfe Castle, and has a popular public house which the property adjoins.
The accommodation has many character features, with most rooms enjoying vaulted beamed ceilings, several with roof lights, and flagstone floors. The front door opens straight from the private entrance courtyard into the living area with log burner and chimney extending into the tall vaulted ceiling. The generous open plan kitchen/ dining room is ideal for entertaining and is fitted with a range of oak units with granite tops and a Belfast sink, with space for a table and chairs. The main bedroom features an original fireplace and chimney breast (not a working fireplace) and a modern en suite shower. There are two further bedrooms and the modern family bathroom with bath and shower. The cottage has oil fired central heating.
Outside, the cottage has the benefit of a private walled shingle courtyard, perfect for al fresco dining, which enjoys excellent views over the wall across to the ruins of Corfe Castle. The Old Forge has the benefit of two owned parking spaces diagonally across the lane, and opposite the pub.
Agent's Note

Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on September 27, 2011 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
