The village has a highly regarded primary school, Hyde Country Stores and The Potting Shed cafe, all within walking distance, and there is a popular public house in neighbouring Frogham. Communications in the area are excellent. The local road network, including the A338 and A36, draws the regional centres of Salisbury, Bournemouth and Southampton within striking distance.
