A period end-of-terrace cottage in need of modernisation and with scope to extend (subject to planning permission), located in the sought-after New Forest village of Hyde.

An end-of-terrace cottage of traditional red brick elevation forming part of a small terrace of four properties in the centre of the highly regarded and sought-after New Forest village of Hyde, in a garden plot extending to approximately 0.13 acre with vehicular access and off-road parking. The accommodation comprises a sitting room open to kitchen, a rear lobby, a ground floor shower room and three bedrooms on the first floor, two of which are connected. The house has double-glazed windows and oil-fired central heating and would now benefit from updating and modernisation. Subject to securing relevant planning permission, there may be scope to extend the cottage. NO ONWARD CHAIN.

Hyde is one of several peaceful villages located in the uppermost north western corner of the New Forest National Park, where ponies and donkeys frequent the lanes and open forest. The cottage is located in the heart of the village, within level walking distance of the the scenic open acres of Hyde Common. The village has a highly regarded primary school, Hyde Country Stores and The Potting Shed cafe, all within walking distance, and there is a popular public house in neighbouring Frogham. The Avonside towns of Fordingbridge (approx. 2 miles) and Ringwood (approx. 6 miles) have an excellent range of local shops, health centres and reputable state and private schools.

Communications in the area are excellent. The local road network, including the A338 and A36, draws the regional centres of Salisbury, Bournemouth and Southampton within striking distance. There are mainline rail services from Salisbury and Southampton Parkway (90 minutes and 71 minutes respectively) to London Waterloo and international airports at Southampton and Bournemouth.

Those who enjoy outdoor pursuits will undoubtedly be satisfied by the glorious walking, riding and cycling countryside on the door step. There is a choice of local golf and angling clubs in the vicinity and sailing opportunities abound on the South Coast and at Spinnaker Sailing Club at Blashford Lakes, near Ringwood.

A pedestrian gate inset to the front boundary opens to the front garden where a path leads to the front door. The garden is laid to lawn and continues to the side and rear of the house, where there is a vehicular access gate onto the Gorley Lynch road. The rear garden is again laid to lawn and enclosed by hedging and fencing, with a garden shed.

We understand there is a pedestrian Right of Way in favour of No. 2 Fernside Cottages from the Gorley Lynch entrance across the rear of the cottage.
