Description

A very rare opportunity to acquire this charming detached character cottage located on the edge of the popular village of Sherrington with outstanding rural views and delightful gardens of just over an acre.

Built in the late 1800 and within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the property has been in the same family for over 70 years. Chester Cottage is in need of upgrading and re-decoration, but has the potential of becoming a beautiful village home in a truly picture postcard location.

To the front the entrance hall provides access to all three reception rooms. To the right the sitting room with wood burning stove, across the hall to the other reception room also having a wood burning stove and access through to the southerly aspect conservatory which provides an excellent place to sit and enjoy the rural views and indeed the delightful gardens. The rear of the hallway leads through to the dining room and off to the right the inner stairway, cloakroom and through from here to the utility. Off the dining room to the rear is where the kitchen is located.

On the first floor are three double bedrooms, those to the front have excellent views and the bedroom to the rear is double aspect. A small study/possible fourth bedroom and family bathroom complete the first floor.

OUTSIDE
The setting of Chester Cottage is quite delightful, being surrounded by its gardens which overlook adjoining farmland to the north east. The mature gardens are well stocked with a variety of trees, border beds and planting. To the West there is a pergola for sitting out and enjoying the sun. A gravel drive which leads to a parking area for several cars, here also is the double garage, two greenhouses and a workshop. There is also a summer house, wood store and two ponds.
