Amberley is an attractive hillside village which lies just below Minchinhampton Common. The nearby towns of Minchinhampton and Nailsworth have a good range of shops and services as well as excellent pubs and restaurants. Stroud has a wider range of shopping facilities as well as its award-winning Farmers Market. Other local towns include Tetbury and Cirencester. The main regional centres are Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bath, Bristol and Swindon.
Educational facilities within the area are excellent including Beaudesert Park School, Wycliffe College, Rendcomb, Westonbirt and the Cheltenham Colleges. A number of excellent grammar schools including Stroud High School for girls and Marling School for boys.
Direct rail services to London Paddington from Kemble or Stroud Stations, the former scheduled to take from around 75 minutes. Excellent walks on Minchinhampton Common and in the surrounding countryside. A wide choice of sporting facilities. There are three golf courses at Minchinhampton.
