This remarkable area was at the heart of the Industrial Revolution in the late 18th and early 19th centuries and became world famous in 1779 when the world's first Iron Bridge was cast at nearby Coalbrookdale. The area is steeped in industrial heritage with local museums including the renowned Blists Hill Victorian Town Open Air Village at nearby Madeley and the world famous China works at Coalport.
Ironbridge is surrounded by lovely Shropshire countryside, dominated by the nearby Wrekin, Shropshire's highest hill. From its summit there are views over much of the county and to the North the contrasting landscape of the Shropshire plain.
As you drive along Hodge Bower this property is very inconspicous. Everything about this property becomes apparant as you enter are greeted by the views out over the tree tops of the gorge.
Once you enter through the gate marked LIncoln Cottage you find yourself in a spacious veranda which has a door into the double garage, rear garden and the main property entrance.
The rest of the accommodation offers buyers a flexible layout allowing you to create your perfect home. As you step through the front door into a spacious hallway with a room to the right, currently a generous bedroom but could easily be a 2nd reception room. To the right of the hall way is the main reception room which has French doors with windows to the side allowing light to flood in and occupants to take in the fabulous views. Their is also a shower room and bathroom on this floor.
On the lower ground floor you will find two further rooms which could either bedrooms or reception rooms. The kitchen at then of the property has a doorway out to the conservatory which has views out over the terrace.
Outside is where this property comes alive. Although in need of attention this could be and once was truly lovely garden. Exiting from the property from the conservatory leads out onto a substantial terrance with steps at either end leading down to what was a generous lawned area, now somewhat overgrown. At the bottom of the garden there is a further wooded area. Access to the garden can also be gained from the afore mentioned veranda via steps and the garden gate to the right of the property leads of Hodge Bower and down a spiral staircase.

OnTheMarket may have applied supplementary data to this property listing, including:
Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on March 1, 2022
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on March 1, 2022
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on September 25, 2023 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
