Bideford, ten miles to the north, is a popular and historic town on the estuary of the River Torridge. It was once Britain's third largest port, but today it's home to some great pubs, restaurants and music venues. Bideford is also part of the Hartland Heitage Coast, a 60-mile-long stretch of rugged cliffs holding back the Atlantic Ocean.
