Why the owner loves the property:
Kirtle Road has an active community, all the neighbours know each other and look out for each other. Annually we get together to maintain the street and join after for a social.The area despite being central to the town is extremely quiet. Whilst some road noise can be heard during the day over night it is almost silent. Our back garden is a little secret retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Whilst the front garden offers a flowery cottage garden feel you can sit in in the evening. We had planned to put in french doors from the lounge to creat better access and use.The Lean-to is a great mud room! You can head up over the hills into the Chiltern countryside from the white hill centre. Explore the fields and woods and kickoff your boots and jackets in the lean-to.We had planning permission accepted that includes a dorma. We didn't go through with building it but the new owner could do this. This would provide a new large double bedroom with ensuite and open the loft for storage. It could make this a very spacious 45 bed house.The tiered setting of the house offers character, we added a stove that heats the whole house in the winter, just leave the doors open and let the heat rise. This provides a super cosy cottage feel, great for those days after returning from a walk in the woods in winter. The Lean-to also has a log store so you can keep a standard load of logs nice and dry, and grab them without getting wet!
