Description
Shore House dates back to the 1700s and sits in a prominent position on Burnham Quay, with breathtaking, uninterrupted views across the estuary and beyond into Kent. The property is Grade II listed and a quote from the listing states “A C18 red brick building...with a panelled parapet with a raised stone band. 2 storeys and attics...double-hung sashes with glazing bars, in flush cased frames. A raised stone band runs between the storeys...breaks forward slightly with a 4-panel door in panelled reveals with pilasters, frieze and pediment. Roof tiled with 2 flat headed dormers.” The house forms part of a row that includes the 17th century Olde White Harte, which is a very well-known traditional-style hotel, restaurant and public house.
The accommodation is arranged over three floors around the inner hall and the house’s Georgian heritage, with period details such as the deep sash windows and large open fireplaces in the principal reception rooms, is clearly visible throughout. The ground floor accommodation includes the hall (with an elegant dogleg staircase), a beautifully panelled dining room and a sitting room or bedroom with a recently completed en suite. There is also a large kitchen/ breakfast room, recently fitted with bespoke units finished with on-trend period colours and incorporating a substantial island with integrated hob and extractor. The room features a glazed lantern bathing the room in natural light. An adjacent snug provides a cosy retreat overlooking the courtyard. Full-height glazed doors provide access out into the courtyard garden, where there is a collection of brick-built outbuildings that provide useful storage.
The bedrooms are arranged over two floors and include many period features exemplified by exposed redbrick work and timbers. The front bedrooms (one used as a sitting room) enjoy far-reaching views over the water towards Wallasea Island.
Outside
The house is approached over the Quay and there is also access at the rear by a right of way to a private courtyard, ideal for al fresco dining.
Services
Mains water, electricity, gas and drainage.

Burnham-on-Crouch station: 0.5 miles (Liverpool Street from 60 mins), A130: 16 miles, Chelmsford: 20 miles, M25 (Junction 29): 28 miles, Central London: 52 miles.
The town of Burnham-on-Crouch lies on the north bank of the River Crouch, which is an attractive tidal estuary. Historically, the town was firstly a ferry port, subsequently a fishing port known for its oyster beds, and most recently a famous yachting centre hosting the renowned 'Burnham Week' at the end of August.
Although the town has a population of only around 7,500, it offers a range of facilities not normally found in small towns, including a cinema, two primary schools and a secondary school, a marina (Burnham Yacht Harbour) and several other boatyards, four yacht clubs, two supermarkets and a varied mixture of other shops, a number of public houses, restaurants and eateries and a railway station on the Southminster branch line with direct trains into London Liverpool Street.

Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
