Locality - The picturesque village of Aldbury is the epitome of an English village, which retains a village green, with pond and historic stocks and whipping post. Around it clusters the church, the village shop, one of the two local pubs and a number of period cottages. It is situated on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, at the foot of a chalk escarpment, which is capped by the beech woodland of Ashridge Forest. To the north, south and east lies some 4,000 acres of National Trust Land, forming the Ashridge Estate, formerly a hunting estate of King Henry VIII and childhood residence of Queen Elizabeth I. The Estate was acquired by The National Trust in the 1920's and the magnificent woodlands and 18th century park, landscaped by Capability Brown and Humphrey Repton, is open to the public. The area lies within greenbelt countryside, designated as being an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Aldbury is within a short drive of both Berkhamsted and Tring, which provide an eclectic mix of interesting shops and boutiques, along with a variety of coffee houses, bistros and restaurants. Recreational and sporting facilities abound, with hockey, rugby, tennis and cricket clubs available. There is a choice of golf courses, including Stocks, Berkhamsted and the renowned course at Ashridge, whilst the internationally acclaimed health resort at Champneys is within a short drive.
Commuters - Road and rail communications are excellent with the A41 just north of the village of Tring, and Tring Train station offering a fast link to London Euston in approximately 30 minutes.

Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
