This handsome Victorian house was built in the 1850s by the renowned architect, Samuel Sanders Teulon. It has classic gothic features with a wonderfully steep gable roof, large sash windows, most of which have working internal shutters. While the house is predominantly painted white, the east facing wall remains exposed with beautiful polychrome banded brickwork. The house does share a party wall with a cottage that was formally used for domestic staff when it was the Rectory. This is not part of the sale and well hidden behind a garden wall. The porched front door leads into a generous hallway with oak flooring with a coffered ceiling and a delightful corner fireplace with brick surround. Further along, the hall leads to an attractive arched garden door.

Off to the left is a sitting room with a working fire place, coffered ceiling and a sash window looking out to the front of the house. The other side of the hall leads to the drawing room with a large bay window overlooking the garden. There is a working fireplace with stone surround and mantlepiece. The kitchen/breakfast room boasts lovely views of the garden, with ornate French doors with side lights leading out to the terrace. There are floor and wall mounted cupboards, a double butler’s sink, Aga (gas mains) and an electric oven and hob for the summer months. The dining room has duel aspects of the garden, an attractive fireplace with mantlepiece and a coffered ceiling. The utility room also doubles up as a guest WC. Built in cupboards house the washing machine, tumble dryer and a fridge/ freezer. The boiler room is accessed externally. The staircase, with intricately carved banisters leads to a generous first floor landing. The principle bedroom has great ceiling heights with views overlooking the garden. It has a dressing room and en suite bathroom with a bath, an enclosed shower, WC, sink and a box room. There are a further four double bedrooms. The family bathroom has a large enclosed shower, WC and sink. The Annexe was built in 2000 and comprises of a well-proportioned sitting room with French doors leading to the garden. The separate kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob and sink. There is a double bedroom and a shower room with WC.

The front of the house has a gated gravel circular driveway. The carport was built in 2020 has automatic lighting and space for two cars. One port has doors to form a garage. The immaculate gardens, extending to approximately 1.02 acres in total, are predominantly lawn with an open paddock area.
