Description
Pear Tree Cottage is a former farmhouse and adjoining barn, sympathetically combined and extended creating a deceptively spacious home of considerable character. The property occupies a corner plot on the edge of the village, extending to just over 2400 sq ft, the bulk of the living space overlooking the larger than average rear garden. There is a graveled parking area to the front and to one side a former stable block now providing useful stores.
The majority of the property has been tastefully refurbished in recent years, offering well proportioned and flexible accommodation over two floors, neutrally decorated and finished to a high standard.
The ground floor accommodation includes a hand crafted wooden kitchen with granite worktops, Aga and engineered wood flooring. Just off from the kitchen is an inviting reception room, leading to a delightful dining room with a traditional open fire place. In addition there is a large sitting room allowing plenty of space for family living and entertaining, with double glazed doors opening onto the rear terrace.
The feeling of space and natural light continues on the first floor where there are four double bedrooms and three bathrooms, one en-suite and another open to bedroom two.
Of particular note is the larger rear garden, which extends to around 0.39 acre, laid predominantly to lawn, bordered by mature hedges and dotted with mature trees, including a magnificent copper beech. The space is partially divided by a conifer hedge which opens to reveal an orchard with open countryside beyond.
