This property was converted into a characterful family home in 1965. It is located in the heart of Walmer and includes a parking area for about three cars in front of the outbuilding and the double entrance gates that open onto a long drive that leads to the property in its secluded setting. The attractive exterior with an arched entrance leads to the entrance hall with its shower room, stairs to the first floor and access to the kitchen. This has a range cooker, space for appliances and storage cupboards as well as a door to the side conservatory with views over the well-stocked ‘Italian' garden. The impressive sitting room has three sash windows, wood flooring and a modern log burning stove and leads to the dining room that has folding doors which open into an impressive garden room with French doors to the terrace. On the first floor there are three double bedrooms, a family bathroom and an airing cupboard.

The outbuilding consists of a good sized area fitted with a kitchenette, as well as a shower room and a secondary area. The large terrace is great for outdoor entertaining and is bordered by a dwarf wall and steps that lead to the lawn and shrub borders as well as some beautiful mature trees including a Eucalyptus and a Judas tree.

What the Owner says:
We moved here from London about 31 years ago because we fell in love with the location and the character of the house. It has been a wonderful home but it is now time to downsize, although it would be nice to be able to stay in Walmer . The location is very convenient as the train station with the high speed train to Ashford, Canterbury and London is not far away and we can easily be in Dover and Folkestone for trips to the Continent. Upper Walmer village has some useful shops and a gastropub and there are lovely places to go for walks as we can stroll along to Walmer Castle and the seafront. Over the years we have refurbished the property and we have been able to install a shower room and, because the house is not listed, we have been able to put in double glazed windows and the new conservatory as well as converting the garage.

OnTheMarket may have applied supplementary data to this property listing, including:

Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on December 21, 2021

Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:

    Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
    Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
    Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2

Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on December 28, 2021

Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services

Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on March 17, 2022 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.

Any supplementary data should not be relied upon as forming part of any property particulars and OnTheMarket cannot be held responsible for any incorrectness in this data. See here for more information.

    *Call rate information

Calls to 0843 numbers will be charged at 4p/min from BT landlines. Calls from other networks may vary, and calls from mobiles and outside the UK will be higher. Calls to local numbers beginning with 01, 02 and 03 numbers will incur standard geographic charges from landlines and mobiles.
