IN THE OWNER'S WORDS
"Having never envisaged a home on the South Coast of Cornwall, as a family with a love of the sea, we quickly embraced our life in Fowey, rich in Maritime history and all activities offered here on the water.

My son's world quickly opened up to the sea, as we joined both Fowey and Gallants Yacht Clubs, where we experienced a new boating life with the locals, dinghy sailing, gig rowing, wild sea swimming and of course the Annual Fowey Regatta.

This is one of the best known sailing events in the UK - lots of sailing competitions on the water in early August as well as land events, including a Giant Pasty Ceremony and pasty eating competition, as well as an amazing town carnival and fireworks - Best viewing spot in the town is Fowey Royal Yacht Club!

Our now departed, lovely labrador Zoe enjoyed many walks and sea swims around the harbour from 4 approaches to the town from our house, down to the water. These walks all within a 10-15 minute walk including to a locals/tourists favourite beach (Ready Money Cove). A real haven for 4 legged friends too!

Lovely coastal walks to St Catherine's Castle, or on the coastal path (the Saints Way), take you on another adventure to local villages, including Menabilly Beach and Polkerris Cove with a favourite restaurant 'Sam's on the Beach' lovely fresh fish! The Rashgill Inn, known for its Fizz and Chips' (Prosecco and chips) after a wild sea swim!). Nothing better!

As for the house, even as a 3 bedroom property, it is bright, airy and spacious with amazing views from the lounge to Bodmin Moor and beyond.

The neighbours are wonderful and we have pub/cinema nights and little street events annually, raising money for the RNLI (Fowey). Great fun!"

LOCATION
Situated on the South Coast of Cornwall lies the charming harbour town of Fowey.

Steeped in history and surrounded by both stunning waterside and countryside scenery, this is a truly special location.

The deep water natural harbour makes Fowey a popular place for sailing and other water sports activities, whilst nearby beaches, such as Lantic Bay and Par Sands, offer some of Cornwall’s most tranquil swimming destinations. Further along, Fowey’s estuary provides the perfect opportunity to explore with creeks, bays, woodlands and headlands on offer.

Designated as one of the 12 Areas of Natural Beauty in Cornwall, Fowey provides a stunning backdrop for a variety of wonderful country walks. From a gentle evening stroll along the harbour to a strenuous hike around the coast path exploring historic gems such as St Catherine’s Castle, Fowey provides a number of opportunities to explore the outdoors.

The town centre plays host to a great selection of shops and galleries filled with a range of both local and regional products. A foodies paradise, Fowey offers a wide choice of places to go for food and drink, whether that be a Cornish afternoon tea, fish & chips, a pint of locally brewed cider or a family meal at one of the many independent restaurants close by.

Plenty of amenities are within easy reach including schools, doctors surgeries, pharmacies and a post office. Buying local is a very popular choice too with bakeries, butchers, delis and general stores all easily located within the bustling town centre.

Close access to the A38 and A30 allow connection to a wide breadth of places meaning you can easily venture to nearby towns and villages such as Par and St Austell, both of which provide national railway links along with Newquay Airport, less than a 40-minute drive away.

Prepare to fall in love as you really will be spoilt for choice in how to spend your time. After all, there was a reason this idyllic town rhymes with joy.
