  • Renhold Village
A Grade II listed 17th century principally thatched three/four bedroom cottage with a self-contained annexe, a swimming pool, and a plot of approximately 0.5 acres. The cottage is believed to date back to the 1600's and has had some later additions. Recent refurbishments have added underfloor heating, updated bathrooms and a refitted kitchen with adjoining breakfast room. Retained period features include exposed beams and timbers, inglenook fireplaces and wooden ledge and brace doors. The cottage was rethatched in 2014. The accommodation has a sitting room, dining room and a study, which could also be used as a fourth bedroom. The ground floor also has a further double bedroom, a bathroom, a shower room, and separate utility room. There are two further double bedrooms on the first floor.

The garden is mainly laid to lawn with a gravelled driveway, accessed by electric gates, which provides off street parking. There is a heated outdoor swimming pool which is on an enclosed raised terrace. Outbuildings provide storage and filtration for the pool.

Rooms

Kitchen/Breakfast Room
The kitchen has recently been refitted in a range of hand painted base and wall units with granite worksurfaces incorporating a butler style sink. There is space for a gas range cooker, and space and plumbing for a dishwasher and American style fridge-freezer. A recent extension has added an adjoining breakfast room with windows and a door to the garden.

Annexe
The self-contained annexe is suitable for extended family or could be used to work from home. It has a bedroom, a bathroom, a utility room, a refitted kitchen with island workstation, and a sitting room with bi-fold doors to the rear garden. The annexe also has its own distribution board, mains water, mains gas and gas boiler and also has its own recognised address which is separate to the main cottage.

Situation and Schooling
Renhold village is to the north of the River Great Ouse and has a lower school, church, a public house and a village store. The ruins of Renhold Castle have been designated a Scheduled Monument. Education is provided by schools in Bedford, about 4 miles away, including the Harpur Trust schools. Further afield is Kimbolton School to the north east. The village is within a short drive of the Bedford bypass (A421) which provides access to Junction 13 of the M1, Milton Keynes to the west and the A1 and Cambridge to the east. Bedford railway station has services to London St. Pancras International.

Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on May 12, 2023

Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:

    Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
    Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
    Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2

Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on May 12, 2023

Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
