THE PROPERTY
Situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Wayford, first glimpses of The Hurst are most impressive with its most attractive facade constructed of local stone and brick under a pitched tiled roof.
This wonderful property, which is not listed, was formerly the schoolhouse and prior to this was two separate cottages. The property has been very carefully looked after and lovingly cared for over the years, and is now a wonderful family home offering very flexible accommodation, yet totally untainted by inappropriate modernisation.
On first entering the property there is a real sense of charm and space with many rooms worth a special mention, including a very good-sized sitting room with a large open inglenook fireplace and woodburning stove. There is also a pretty window seat and views over the delightful garden.
The family kitchen is a very good size with plenty of room for a kitchen/breakfast table, and incorporating a range of attractive wooden wall and base units and an Aga (green). Alongside the kitchen is a large dining room and beyond this another sitting room/library with a central fireplace.
The bedrooms are situated on the first floor, with four beautiful bedrooms including a truly exceptional principal bedroom with high ceilings, exposed wooden beams and far-reaching countryside views. This room is quite simply 'as good as it gets'. There is one separate shower room and a family bathroom.
The delightful gardens lie to the rear of the property with a lawned area and well-stocked borders, paved terrace ideal for al fresco dining, ample parking, a double garage and a large garden.
All in all, this is a truly wonderful property in an idyllic yet very convenient location.

OnTheMarket may have applied supplementary data to this property listing, including:
Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on June 24, 2023
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on June 24, 2023
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on July 4, 2023 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
