Why the owner loves the property:
I love the charm and character of this house. It was the first house I ever bought and I was immediately taken by the lovely little fireplaces, the large size of all the bedrooms and the long garden which meant that I could grow vegetables and entertain on the patio. I enjoyed renovating and decorating it all with my Dad. The house was built between the first and second world wars by soldiers returning from service and I like that the building has this connection and also feels so cosy and warm. It’s great that the house is in walking distance of Newbury town centre and the train station because it means you can get wherever you need really quickly and easily while also getting to enjoy the peace and quiet of walks along the canal. It’s also been useful for lodgers when they didn’t have a car but we also remade the driveway so that two cars can be parked safely off the road which gave us a lot of peace of mind. My favourite part of the house is the kitchen diner. I have spent so many happy evenings cooking, chatting and entertaining in the kitchen - I just love the window bench, it makes the room such a natural, easy place to relax and unwind. I moved into the house on my own and it’s been brilliant that the house has grown with me, taking in a few lodgers over the years, my now husband and later our little Cavapoo dog who loves the nearby walks in Speen Moor and Sunday morning strolls into town for a coffee! There is always sunshine coming through the big windows because the sun rises over the kitchen and sets into the living room and there’s a lovely spot down by the shed which keeps the sun late into the evening - we often used to take a glass of wine down to mull the day over as the sun went down. I have nothing but happy memories of living here and know it will make a fabulous home for its next owner, whoever they may be.

Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on February 15, 2022

Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:

    Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
    Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
    Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2

Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on February 15, 2022

Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services

Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on July 2, 2023 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.

Any supplementary data should not be relied upon as forming part of any property particulars and OnTheMarket cannot be held responsible for any incorrectness in this data. See here for more information.
