Mayfield was mentioned in the Doomsday Book in which it was called 'Mavreveldt'. The River Dove is the boundary between Derbyshire and Staffordshire linked by the beautiful Hanging Mill Bridge. We completely fell in love with the amazing views overlooking the river valley and we spend much of our time in the garden enjoying them. When you’re relaxing in the garden it feels like you could be in the middle of nowhere!
