Description
An attractive period detached house in a lovely edge of village setting with elegant versatile accommodation and extensive grounds making it an ideal family home.
Backing onto fields, this is a handsome detached country residence believed to have been built around 1901 with painted brick external elevations under a slate tiled roof. Altered and improved over the years, the well- proportioned and elegant accommodation is beautifully presented and offers versatility as to how it can be enjoyed as well as scope to make further changes.
On the ground floor, an enclosed entrance porch leads to a welcoming entrance hall and on to the three reception rooms which includes a comfortable sitting room and elegant dining room, both of which have open fireplaces with marble surrounds and overlook the garden. The good-sized family room gives access to the attractively fitted and equipped modern kitchen fitted by Howdens which has an electric Rangemaster cooker and adjoins the light and airy garden/breakfast room. There is also a utility/larder area and cloakroom on this level.
Upstairs on the first floor is a galleried landing, a lovely master bedroom with super views, three further double bedrooms and a well-appointed family bathroom. On the second floor is a fifth bedroom with an en-suite shower room.
Outside
The property benefits from having the most delightful Southerly facing grounds that extend to around 0.75 of an acre and are bordered on one side by open countryside. These consist of a tarmacadam drive providing parking that lead to a stone paved terrace with steps down to areas of lawn interspersed with mature hedging with flower and shrub borders, an interesting variety of broadleaf, conifer, ornamental and fruit trees. The lower part of the garden has a greenhouse and a wooden shed and opens out to a wild garden area and a small copse. To the side of the house is a garden store/workshop and a shed housing the oil-fired boiler.

Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on August 31, 2022
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on September 18, 2019 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
