An impressive detached period farmhouse set in about half an acre of grounds with outbuildings

Description

The Ashes is an superb period farmhouse encompassed by its own gardens of about half an acre and with the addition of attractive stone outbuildings which have scope to be developed, subject to planning.

Situated in the sought after village of Barton, this much loved family home would benefit from some modernisation and offers an excellent opportunity for the new owners to make the house their own.

Extending to over 4,500 square feet of accommodation, the principal rooms are all of impressive size. The ground floor has two generous reception rooms, a kitchen with working Aga, study, sizeable WC, utility room and pantry. There is a further family room and shower room which has potential to work as an annexe.

The first floor is home to five generous double bedrooms and two house bathrooms. Of particular note is the spectacular 22 foot principal bedroom, with wonderful aspects across the gardens and a bathroom and storage room next door this could be made into a fantastic principal suite.

Entered through a pretty archway with a further drive providing in and out access, there is parking for several cars. In addition there is a large stone outbuilding with two garages which have storage above and further storage sheds. The gardens are surrounded by mature trees and hedges affording a great deal of privacy with large lawned areas, a patio with planted flower beds and a greenhouse.
