Property description & features

  • Sought After Hove Seafront Location
  • Magnificent Double Fronted Period Villa
  • Six Impeccable Bedrooms
  • Stunning Kitchen/Family Room
  • Idyllic Garden With Landscaped Patio
  • Off-Road Parking And Wildflower Garden To The Front
A beautifully planned and planted wildflower garden stretches out alongside the central tiled path to your door, filled with the colours and scents of herbs and meadow flowers that add a tremendously inviting first impression. Instantly generating a sense of the heritage and charm, the graceful arch of its canopied doorway welcomes you into a central hallway. Dado rails and corbels add to the charm while a trio of outstanding reception rooms unfold around you.

Beautifully lit by bay windows, subtle cornicing wrap around the high ceilings of each room and the timber tones of wide blond oak floorboards lends a warming balance. A distinguished fireplace adds a refined focal point to the living room while double doors in the dining room seamlessly connect you with an outstanding kitchen where south-facing French doors make it irresistibly easy to step out into the summer sun.

A considerable walled garden that adds a tranquil space for everyone to enjoy. A tastefully landscaped patio is ideally sized for al fresco dining and afternoon siestas, and an established lawn gives children every opportunity to play. Superbly appointed with a wealth of painted Shaker cabinetry and robust state of the art Minerva countertops, its extensive dimensions provide an enviable degree of storage and workspace.

The curves of a sweeping staircase guide the way upstairs where the impeccably presented cornicing and architraves continue. Six bedrooms pepper the upper two storeys producing an immense degree of flexible space for a growing family.

Two of the four first floor double bedrooms have more of those wonderful bay windows and lead into deluxe en suites with contemporary bathtubs, while two on the upper storey have en suite shower rooms that supply easy access to copious eaves storage. An additional family shower room and ground floor cloakroom complete the layout.

A bricked paved hardstanding provides the convenience of CCTV private off-road parking space.

What the owner says:

We've so loved living here! It's literally across the road from the sea and fabulous promenade and beaches, from Rockwater and the lagoon with its water sports. The West Hove development project due for completion in 2024 means just moments away there will be new pleasure gardens, padel, beach volleyball and tennis courts.

There are bus stops at both ends of the road that take us swiftly into central Brighton. Nearby Richardson Road has a great village feel with its cafe and florist etc and the independent shops on Portland Road and Church Road are just a short walk away. Waitrose and Tesco superstores are close by too. Hove Station is an easy walk away as well. Then within 10 minutes by car and we're up in the South Downs National Park and glorious landscapes of Devil's Dyke.

The house sits in a super quiet middle part of the road so there's no noise from Kingsway or New Church Road. Next door to us is owner occupied and it's a family centric road with a great sense of community with a Whatsapp group/ book club etc.

Our work commitments mean we have to relocate but otherwise it's been a most treasured family home for us and our children - we will miss it very much.
