Recreational and social activities are numerous including the award winning Pallant House Gallery, Chichester Tennis and Squash Club, Westgate Sports Centre and a multi-screen cinema complex. The internationally known Chichester Festival Theatre can be found within a 1/4 mile of Brewery Cottage. Nearby Goodwood plays host to a wide variety of events including its annual horse racing festival, Festival of Speed and the Revival of its historic motor circuit. It also provides its own private country club with swimming pool, gym and golf course. To the south the waters of Chichester Harbour and The Solent provide some of the best sailing facilities on the south coast with sailing clubs at Itchenor, Bosham and Birdham.
